Why findependent is the smart choice for investing for kids
Child's play
In your app, you can create an unlimited number of pots (goals) for your children, grandchildren, and godchildren. For each child, you choose the right one from our five ready-made investment solutions. Then you pay in and we take care of the rest for you.
Flexible from 500 francs
You start each pot from 500 francs and pay in flexibly. After your initial deposit, third parties (e.g. grandparents) can also pay in directly. We invest every additional 50-franc note immediately. The fee exemption of at least 2'000 francs applies to your total assets with us, not to each individual pot.
Full control
You hold all pots in your name. This way, you maintain control at all times. You can easily transfer the saved money directly to the child as soon as they reach adulthood and open their own findependent account. Or you can wait until they have completed their education. There is no legal obligation for you to hand it over.

Being smart for the kids
Would you like to build a nest egg for your child, godchild, or grandchild so they can launch into adulthood with the wind in their sails?
Whether as a bonus for their first car, their own apartment, or an unforgettable trip around the world: With our investment solutions made of low-cost ETFs, saving (or rather investing) for the next generation simply makes more sense than relying on a poorly paying savings account.

Investing instead of consuming
Let's be honest: The 100th plastic toy brings joy for a moment, but gathers dust in the kids' room after two weeks.
Investing, on the other hand, creates lasting value. While the toy is long forgotten, the invested money grows over the years into a handsome amount thanks to compound interest and further deposits. Which will definitely bring a sparkle to the eyes of the child who isn't quite so small anymore.
Pro tip: A little something for a few francs is still possible. That way, the child can unwrap a bottle of bubbles or a homemade card.

Responsible investing for kids
We also apply our proven investment principles to children's accounts. And for equity investments outside Switzerland, we only use sustainable ETFs (they exclude coal, oil & weapons, for example).
Long investment horizon
The longer the money works for the kid, the more it benefits from the long-term upward trend of the financial markets.
Strong diversification
We don't put all our eggs in one basket. With ETFs, we invest even small amounts with broad diversification.
Buy and hold
Keep calm instead of taking hectic action. That might sound boring, but it's very cost-effective. That way, more return remains for the children.

Time works for you and for the kids
If you start investing money for a child early on, you have an unbeatable ally: time. The longer you keep the money invested, the greater the chance of an attractive return.

FAQ
The most frequently asked questions and answers about findependent
Can someone else deposit money into my child's account?
Of course! As soon as you've made the first deposit (even 1 franc is enough) from your personal bank account, godparents or grandparents can also deposit directly into the child's savings goal.
Important: Until the official gift or transfer, the money legally still belongs to the person who opened the account.
Why is my allocation to an asset class significantly higher / lower than the target value?
This can happen with smaller investment amounts (under 2’000 francs) and is for purely technical reasons. Since we can only buy whole ETF shares and some shares cost over 100 francs, the percentage allocation can initially deviate slightly from the target value.
Don't worry, this is completely normal. The more money you invest, the more closely the allocation will match your chosen target. Our system automatically optimizes this for you with every deposit.
How do I transfer the investment goal to my (god)child once they reach adulthood?
The transfer process after they come of age is very simple:
Your (god)child opens their own account with us.
An initial deposit of 1 franc is enough to activate it.You initiate the transfer in your app.
Click on the name of the relevant investment goal, then click on «More» and «Transfer». Select «Other account», enter their client number, their full name and your relationship (e.g. grandchild, child, godchild). We'll take care of the rest.
